2014 AGM & Social

AGM Attendees

Saturday 21st June saw the branch celebrating the 40th Anniversary of the inaugural meeting by holding the AGM at Batemans Brewery. The meeting started at 12 noon, although the Chairman, Nigel Woodburn, commented that the meeting should have been at 8pm to make it exactly 40 years since the branch was formed.

In a departure from his usual report, Nigel included some of the highlights from the first year's meetings. It made an interesting comparison with the beer world today, although some topics have never changed!

Martin Cullimore, Batemans Head Brewer, gave an interesting insight into current developments and issues. He also led a pre-meeting brewery tour for those interested in the more technical aspects of brewing.

Members had a chance to sample several different beers, kindly provided free by the brewery, and enjoyed a reasonably priced meal after the meeting.

Our thanks to Martin and Batemans for making us most welcome.
