Campaign for Real Ale

February 2024 - Bicker

Last Sunday 8 of us set off on a walk led by Heather around the village of Bicker.

The weather was overcast but everyone was in good spirits. The walk was all on road but there were several giant puddles to get around. There was a real feeling that spring was on the way as we saw masses of snowdrops, some daffodils and a few primroses. Towards the end of the walk, we went into the church of St Swithun’s a grade 1 listed building with a central tower. Everyone had a good look around. As we left the church the skies turned black and the group made a quick dash to the Red Lion where lunch had been booked.

The Red Lion had 3 real ales for us to choose from. We were seated in the restaurant , which was very busy. The food was delicious and everyone had a good time.
