Several Fenland members popped along to Sleaford Cricket Club over the bank holiday weekend to watch the cricket matches whilst imbibing in the beer festival marquee.

Ten cask ales were on via gravity dispense, along with seven ciders in polypins. Beers included Summer Lightning, White Rat, Inferrno, BG Sips, Carnival Pale, Absolution, Pride & Joy, Green Mountain, Wherry and Abbot. All served in good condition.

The cricket was badly affected by the weather with only a few overs played on the Saturday and Monday before the heavens opened and ended play. However the weather did not stall the beer drinking and the tent / marquee was overflowing at times in more ways than one.

Sunday's cricket match fared better with the weather turning out to be sunnier than the forecast, and Sleaford Sunday 2nd XI beat Caythorpe by 51 runs. The Summer Lightning, sponsored by Fenland's Chairman, turned out to be a most apt description, as well as a tasty beer!
