Campaign for Real Ale

December 2015 - Barkston

Stag Inn, Barkston

Seven magnificent specimens ready booted with top coats against the prevailing wind awaited the lone cyclist, John, fighting his way against the strong westerly gale-like gusts.

From the Stag Inn at Barkston Jo and Richard led the way past the church and then up Minnett's Hill, a long steep lane leading to Barkston Heath. A right / southerly turn then took the trekkers down a minor road with the walls of Syston Park and Grange following all the way round and down. Crossing the busy A153 the energetic eight walked into Syston, past the church and Old Hall and then back to the Stag Inn.

Everards Tiger, Beacon and Original awaited the thirsty troop, all in good form - as was the beer ! Also St Austell Tribute. A tasty lunch was promptly served in the conservatory. Thanks to Jo and Richard for organising the walk.
