Thatched CottagePools Lane
See more about this pub on WhatPub, CAMRA's national pub guide.
Picturesque thatched 17th-century listed building, a rarity in fen country, which was a private house until 1985. Although extended and modernised to the rear, the bar and separate dining-room exhibit a wealth of ancient timbers and inglenook fireplaces. Tall people beware! Outside is an area for giant chess, petanque and quoits, together with a country park containing a natural burial ground and arboretum.
