A fine country inn displaying charm and character. Its bright and comfortable lounge bar, with attractive rural prints, and panelled dining room serving locally-sourced food, are deservedly popular with locals and visitors. Guest beers are usually from independent brewers. There's a pleasant beer-terrace and garden for summer months and large function room. The pub's name refers to the slaying, by the Saxons, of three Danish chieftains in battle in 870 at nearby Stow; Look for the effigies above the entrance.
