8 Sail Threshing Weekend

Wednesday 28 September 2016

8 Sail Brewery held another successful beer festival in September, in conjunction with the Threshing Weekend at the windmill.

The star of the brewery's 10 beers on offer was Green Man (4.2%) hopped with Golding hops fresh from the bine at Pridewood Farm in Herefordshire, collected by the 8 Sail brewers and brewed within 24 hours to preserve flavour and aroma. True to form the barrel was drunk dry by 6.05pm on the Saturday - the last pint by a ukulele player as he rushed for the train.

8 Sail's Windmill Bitter, John Barleycorn, and Blonde also quickly sold out. Guest beers included Stroud's Alederflower, Brunswick's Narrow Gauge, Oldershaw's Autumn Hue, and Traqir House's Stuart Ale. All beers served either by handpump or gravity were in top condition and fitting accompaniment to the threshing machines and the Ukulele Orchestra.
