Campaign for Real Ale

September 2012 - Horbling & Threekingham

Plough, Horbling Three Kings, Threekingham

From the Plough at Horbling the select party of 8 alers ambled across a sheep filled grassy field and under the tunnel of the dismantled Sleaford / Bourne railway. On then through tall grass and blackberry bramble strewn bridges before giving way to cropped fields, then over a stile to walk past the familiar whale jaw bones at Threekingham.

A pleasant sit out in the sunny beer garden of the Three Kings with Cottage Brewery (Somerset) Dorset Ale, along with Bass and Landlord presented a difficult decision to press on.

The return journey via cropped fields and minor road led back to the Plough where XXXB and Black Sheep welcomed along with an excellent carvery lunch.
